The World of Equity Estates Expeditions
“The planning is superb — We don’t have to do anything but show up.” — Diane Zvara and Denise Slaughter, Investors since 2017
Equity Estates Expeditions organizes investor-only journeys beyond the portfolio. These expeditions are designed for depth, not crowds, which means they are intentionally small and built around meaningful access and shared discovery. Every itinerary is carefully planned, providing investors with opportunities to see extraordinary sights, as well as moments for rest, relaxation, and unscripted exploration.
“Our strongest impression was the overall attention to detail. Everything from restaurant selection to skiing guides and group planning to the logistics of transportation and lodging was just done perfectly.” — Linda Bostic, Investor since 2023
By taking care of all the details, Equity Estates Expeditions leaves investors free to enjoy their trip, share experiences, and connect with fellow travelers.
“One thing that stands out is how quickly you get to know all the other investors on the trip, and by the end of the expedition, you feel like you have made a group of new friends.” — Ian and Jackie Hunt, Investors since 2022
The Itinerary: Day-by-Day Highlights
The best luxury expedition combines must-see sights and once-in-a-lifetime activities with the best accommodations and dining. It provides a full itinerary, but not one so overcrowded that you don’t have opportunities to find your own experiences and pursue your own interests during the trip.
From April 4 to April 15, 2027, and from April 15-26, 2027, Equity Estates Expeditions journeys to some of Egypt’s most renowned historic and cultural sites. The itinerary’s highlights include:
Day 1: Welcome to Cairo
The expedition starts with a VIP airport welcome. Accommodation in Cairo is at the five-star Four Seasons Nile Plaza overlooking the Nile. The hotel’s amenities include a fine selection of restaurants and a spa that offers guests the chance to luxuriate, like Cleopatra, in a bath of milk, honey, and rose petals.
The first day is for unwinding and settling in, with welcome cocktails and dinner in the evening.
Days 2-4: Explore Egypt’s History
For the next two days, guests explore some of Egypt’s most extraordinary historic sites, including the necropolis at Saqqara, as well as the Great Sphinx and Great Pyramid of Giza. Under the guidance of an expert Egyptologist, the group will enjoy private entry to the Sphinx enclosure and explore the chambers of the Great Pyramid. Private access to the Sphinx is an opportunity to explore and photograph the remarkable monument without the usual crowds, and our Egyptologist will furnish investors with stories and insights that go well beyond the guidebooks.
On day four, the expedition tours the historic sites of Cairo itself. This includes the ancient churches of the city’s Coptic community, the Museum of Civilization, famous for its collection of royal mummies, and the Grand Egyptian Museum, considered the largest museum in the world dedicated to a single civilization.
Days 5-10: Cruise the Nile
From Cairo, the expedition moves to Luxor for a five-day luxury Nile River cruise. Before boarding the boat, investors visit Egypt’s largest ancient temple, Karnak Temple. After dinner on the first night of the cruise, there is an after-hours visit to Luxor Temple, specially lit for the Equity Estates expedition after the crowds have left the complex.
The cruise continues with a day in the Valley of the Kings to see the tomb of King Tutankhamun, the most complete royal Egyptian tomb ever found, and the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, a mammoth stone masterpiece, believed to be about 3,500 years old.
The following day features visits to Edfu Temple and Kom Ombo Temple. On day eight, the expedition takes a brief detour, flying to Abu Simbel, near Egypt’s border with Sudan, to see the extraordinary twin temples carved out of a mountainside in the 13th century BC.
Day nine sees the end of the river cruise, with the expedition checking into the historic Old Cataract Hotel. One of Egypt’s most storied hotels, the Old Cataract has welcomed guests ranging from Winston Churchill to Jimmy Carter and Agatha Christie. She is said to have written “Death on the Nile” during a stay at the hotel, a story which includes a Nile River cruise with a visit to Abu Simbel.
Over the next two days, investors visit the Aswan High Dam, one of the world’s largest embankment dams, as well as the Temples of Philae, dedicated to the goddess Isis, and the Unfinished Obelisk. The largest known ancient obelisk, the Unfinished Obelisk, is about one-third larger than any standing obelisk still in existence, but it remains lodged in its quarry.
This portion of the expedition concludes with a visit to a Nubian village for a firsthand experience of the local culture and a traditional lunch.
Days 11-12: Bon Voyage
Finally, a flight back to Cairo precedes a visit to an historic mosque for insight into the Islamic culture of Egypt. A final farewell dinner on the evening of Day 11 marks the end of the Egypt expedition. On the morning of day 12, investors have time for breakfast before they are taken to Cairo Airport for their flights home.
The expedition pricing includes all airport transfers, local transportation (including internal flights), accommodations, most meals, and gratuities. Investors are only responsible for their travel to and from Egypt (Equity Estates Expeditions provides assistance with visa processing) and any travel insurance.
