Why limit yourself to one island on your Caribbean getaway when we will plan incredible day trips for you to explore nearby islands once you’re there?
With luxury homes in some of the region’s most beautiful locations—it’s easy to see so much more— and Equity Estates makes it feel effortless.
From uninhabited cays to vibrant cultural hubs, these four destinations offer the perfect mix of beaches, adventure, and local flavor, all within easy reach of your home base.

Providenciales, Turks and Caicos
With 40 islands, over 60 named cays, and miles of gorgeous coastline, Turks and Caicos (a just-north-of the-Caribbean, British territory) is an ideal destination for a fun, island-hopping getaway. And our two homes on Providenciales provide the perfect starting point for on-island beach days and explorations, as well as day-trip excursions for shopping, adventuring, or snorkeling on other islands in the TCI archipelago.
Where to go and how to get there
From Providenciales, you can visit a number of beautiful islands, both large and small, inhabited and uninhabited.
North & Middle Caicos can be reached by passenger ferry or private charter. The sleepy island of South Caicos, the historic Grand Turk, and the boutique isle of Salt Cay are accessible by plane. And the small, uninhabited Half Moon Bay — with one of the most beautiful (and least crowded) beaches in the TCI — set between the tiny islands of Little Water Cay and Water Cay, can be reached by boat or kayak and is an excellent spot to spend a day outdoors.
Three favorite day-trip adventures
- Take a guided tour of the connected islands of North & Middle Caicos and explore the ruins on North island and the stunning caves and naturally formed sinkholes on Middle Caicos. In between sightseeing, have lunch at Mudjin Bar & Grill or Miss B’s Bayside Café for traditional cuisine and ocean views.
- Boat or kayak over to Half Moon Bay for an afternoon of swimming, snorkeling, picnicking, and sunbathing on the quiet beach. Explore the lagoon and walk the shore. Or make a longer day of it by also paying a visit to the rock iguanas on Little Water Cay and limestone cliffs at Water Cay.
- Make the 20-minute trip (by air) to Grand Turk to get a sense of TCI’s history and culture. Visit Cockburn Town and check out the National Museum, Grand Turk Lighthouse, restored H.M. Prison and what’s left of the former salt salinas. Relax and swim at lively Governor’s Beach. And have lunch or drinks at the restaurant and bar at Turks Head Inne, the Secret Garden at Salt Raker Inn, or Jack’s Shack on the beach near the Grand Turk Cruise Center.
At home on Providenciales
Our four-bedroom Grace Bay penthouse is located at the Regent Grand, on Grace Bay Beach. With more than 1,000 square feet of covered terrace, indoor and outdoor living space, expansive ocean views, a private elevator that leads you directly to the sand, and access to resort amenities, it’s a luxurious home-away-from-home on the island of Providenciales.

Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands
The quiet island of Virgin Gorda is one of those idyllic, white-sand, blue-sky destinations that feels like paradise on earth. It’s considered by many to be one of the most beautiful islands of the BVI archipelago, with unspoiled stretches of coastline, lush landscapes, and multiple nature sanctuaries that are protected from development.
Where to go and how to get there
There are more than 60 islands in the BVI, including Jost Van Dyke, the island of Anegada, and the capital island of Tortola. Each one offers a different vibe and different reasons to visit. But most are accessible by water taxi, ferry, and/or private boat and are totally worth a day-trip while staying on Virgin Gorda.
Three favorite day-trip adventures
- We’ll book you a full-day, private tour of multiple islands. Travel to tiny Jost Van Dyke to explore the ruins of early sugar mills and visit the Bubbly Pool. Snorkel at the Norman Island Caves. And go hiking and birdwatching on the uninhabited Prickly Pear Island (grabbing refreshments at the Sandbox Beach Bar while you’re there).
- We suggest a private eco-tour of Richard Branson’s 74-acre Necker Island to see local wildlife.
- Spend the day on Tortola shopping, surfing, and touring the island’s historic landmarks. Stroll through the J.R. O’Neal Botanic Gardens, visit the restored Old Government House Museum, and pick up luxury goods or duty-free souvenirs at the shops around Road Town or Tortola Pier.
At home on Virgin Gorda
We have two breathtaking vacation properties on Virgin Gorda (Virgin Gorda I and Virgin Gorda II), both set within a private, lushly landscaped, three-villa enclave overlooking Mahoe Bay.
These elegant Caribbean villas boast 8,000 square feet of indoor/outdoor living space, with vaulted ceilings, five bedrooms, and incredible views. Each one is surrounded by tropical green gardens for a sense of privacy and seclusion and feature private infinity pools and a secluded beach (complete with palapa and lounge chairs).

St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands
Set within the clear, blue-green waters of the Caribbean, the lovely island of St. John is a safe and friendly American paradise. Though the smallest of the U.S. Virgin Islands, it’s a special place, with over two-thirds of its land protected as the Virgin Islands National Park. This ensures acres and acres of unspoiled tropical forest alongside white-sand beaches, cozy historic neighborhoods, and a lively entertainment district.
Where to go and how to get there
From St. John, you can easily visit the island of St. Thomas, USVI, as well as the British Virgin Islands of Jost Van Dyke and Tortola (as long as you have your passport). Accessible by ferry and private boat charters, each offers its own unique attractions and beautiful beaches that are worth a half-day visit or full-day outing.
Three favorite day-trip adventures
- Boat over to nearby St. Thomas for a day of fun on land and in the water. Go snorkeling or windsurfing at Sapphire Beach. Explore the town of Charlotte Amalie and enjoy shopping, museums, historic landmarks, and a Skyride that takes you 700 feet above sea level for amazing views. And sit down for lunch at the lovely open-air Amalia Café, serving light tapas dishes and Spanish entrees in a cobblestone courtyard in the center of town.
- Travel to Jost Van Dyke in the BVI to explore the ruins of early sugar mills and visit the Bubbly Pool. While there, stroll through Great Harbour, the island’s main settlement. Swim and soak up the sun on White Bay Beach. And grab lunch and drinks at the famous Soggy Dollar Bar (home of the original Painkiller rum cocktail) right next to the water.
- Spend the day on the island of Tortola shopping and touring the island’s historic landmarks. Stroll through the J.R. O’Neal Botanic Gardens, visit the restored Old Government House Museum, and pick up luxury goods or duty-free souvenirs at the shops around Road Town or Tortola Pier.
At home on St. John, USVI
We have two fabulous homes on St. John, both perfectly situated for relaxing days on the beach and convenient to activities, attractions, and visiting other islands.
Our five-bedroom, oceanfront St. John I villa in Chocolate Hole features a private pool, plenty of outdoor living space, air conditioning, and breathtaking ocean views. Reminiscent of a small luxury resort, the residence boasts a three-level main home as well as a pool house/tower, with high-end architectural details and luxury décor.
St. John II is a beautiful, six-bedroom oceanfront villa in Klein Bay. It boasts a spacious main home and a separate two-story cottage. There is also a private, resort-style pool and hot tub, indoor/outdoor living space, air conditioning, and incredible views of the water and surrounding hillside neighborhoods. Conveniently located, it’s walking distance to the beach overlooking Rendezvous Bay.

St. Martin, French West Indies
The small but stunning island of St. Martin, located in the West Indies between the Atlantic Ocean and the blue-green Caribbean Sea, is known for its gorgeous beaches, high-end shopping districts, and incredible cuisine.
The southern half of the island is Sint Maarten, a Dutch territory that’s home to the colorful city of Philipsburg, casinos, and a vibrant nightlife. The northern half — where your Equity Estates home is located — is an Overseas Collective of France, with quiet beaches, lush green hills, friendly islanders, and a European vibe.
Where to go and how to get there
Though not technically “island hopping,” the easiest place to get to from St. Martin is Sint Maarten, of course. With just a short drive, you’ll be in a different territory, under a different European rule, and able to enjoy different attractions without leaving the island.
You can also daytrip over to nearby St. Barts (14 miles away) via ferry, charter flight, or private boat and be there in an hour or less. And also sail over to Tintamarre, an uninhabited nature reserve island just north of St. Martin.
Three favorite day-trip adventures
- Visit St. Barts’ capital city of Gustavia to explore historic landmarks and high-end shops. The commercial center is home to some of the finest shopping in the Caribbean — with local boutiques and high-end brands such as Prada, Bulgari, and Louis Vuitton. During your visit, make time for lunch at Beefbar, an elegant restaurant serving creative street food in an indoor/outdoor space overlooking the water.
- Experience a luxurious, full-day private yacht charter, cruising the blue water between islands and visiting some of the most beautiful beaches on and around St. Barts. Snorkel at Colombier Beach, hike and swim at the secluded Ile Fourchue, and relax on lovely Anse des Flamands. You can lunch and sunbathe on board the boat, as well, and anchor in deeper water for more swimming and snorkeling fun.
- Sail over to Tintamarre for a day of picnicking, swimming, snorkeling and exploring. Two miles north of St. Martin, and easily reachable by boat, it’s an idyllic spot for a quiet day of fun on land and in the water.
At home on St. Martin
Set in the upscale, gated community of Terres Basses, your spacious four-bedroom St. Martin island villa is a true showstopper — with remarkable architectural details and impressive water features. The home’s contemporary design is stunning against the lush green tropical landscape and features wonderful ocean and sunset views.
