Berlin is an interesting city to explore, from its fashion to its architecture to its charged political history. Vibrant and bustling, there is lots of culture and history there with plenty to see and do. The Berlin Wall is a sobering reminder of the postwar atmosphere, yet the graffiti art which covers its remnants has become symbolic of social progress in this ultra-creative city.

TAKE A STROLL

Stroll Through Tiergarten Park

This vast, lush park stretches through central Berlin and provides a relaxing contrast to the hustle and bustle of city life. The sculptures are truly something to behold. Stroll from Grosse Stern to the train station and catch the flea market on Saturdays.

SIGHT TO SEE

Check out the Reichstag Building

Situated just north of the Brandenburg Gate, this building houses the German Parliament and was the seat of the Weimar Republic government until it was seized by the Nazis in 1933. The Reichstag Building is a great place to visit and learn about Berlin. Make a reservation online ahead of time so you can walk up the glass dome. The views inside and outside are well worth the trip.

HISTORICAL TREASURE

Don’t Miss the Iconic Brandenburg Gate

Located in no-man’s land between East and West Germany, this fabled monument was built during the 18th-century reign of Friedrich Wilhelm II. It’s been a defining symbol of Berlin and both the city’s division and unification for many years. The Brandenburg Gate is truly a wonder to see because of the history it represents, and the beauty it displays.
