Dubai is characterized by a vast landscape of desert which transforms into a modern, almost futuristic style of skyscrapers along the coast. Dubai is known for its towering skyscrapers, including the world’s tallest building, Burj Khalifa. The city is dotted with man-made islands, luxury hotels, beaches and some of the largest shopping malls in the world. From SCUBA diving to hot air balloons to camelback rides, there’s something for everyone in this ultra-modern metropolis.

The stands are often filled with camel owners, trainers, and handlers. Races start early—between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m.—and commentary and announcements are made in Arabic.
